is there a resonator in the 4th gen and how to remove it

I saw the write up on NTPOG's site but the resonator removal is for 5th gens. Is there one on the 4th gen and is it mainly the same process for removing it.

If you take out the resonator it will sound different but you won't gain any hp, you might even lose some low end power.

If you remove the resanator and hack the bottom of the airbox off, just after the filter, it will get louder and gain a few ponnies

i took mine out about a week prior to installing my CAI. it was a big PITA to remove, but it sounds cool. it felt like it might have a little more when you punch it in second gear, but i probably just convinced myself that it did so i wouldn't feel like i'd wasted all that time trying to get it out. if you've got the time you may as well do the resonator ectemy, it's just a noise maker.
