Is there anyway to test the gas/temp lighting or switch?
I have had my prelude sitting for about 3 years now as I couldn't afford insurance on two cars.
I started trying to restore it a bit and had to replace a bad coil and a bad fuel pump.
I got the car running good btw it is a 93 prelude. The problem is that the gas/ temp lights are out. My friend played with the dimmer switch a bit and they came on for a few seconds but won't come back on.
Is there a bulb in there that might need replaced or could it be the dimmer switch or the instrument panel?
As i have already dropped a good $500 last week just getting the tune up and above replaced I would like to find a way to test the dimmer switch or instrument panel rather than just getting / replacing parts.
I want to start at the dimmer switch and see if that is the problem or if it could be the problem. Before I let it set there was only a few times when i had an issue with the dimmer switch but it was never a lasting problem and I think that the fuel / temp gauge only went out one time.
If anyone has any suggestions, ways to test them or has had a similar problem please respond as it would be a great help.
thanks in advance,
J.
