Temp control cable binding... ?

Just rebuilt my heater controls and now everything works!!!!!!!!

Only problem is the temp control cable. It was disconnected when I got the car and now I can see why.

If I climb in upside down in the passenger side and look up I can see where the cable loops on and what holds it in place. I can manually move the linkage back and forth from hot to cold and it changes it nicely.

Problem is, the linkage moves way too stiff after about 1" from the cold side towards the hot on the controls. I can move it all the way to hot but it just pulls back to the cold side again.

Anyone have any idea what's binding and pulling it back?

Sorry I know what you mean because when I redid mine it was chaffing but still worked.

I guess it worked enough for me to not worry about it.

I honestly don't know how to fix it other than replace the part.

The cable is either pulled to far or not pulled far enough past one of the clamps that hold the cable. If you loosen the clamp and move the cable back a tiny bit then re clamp it down it should fix that problem. It might take a couple of tries to get it right though.
