Tein Basic Question

My car suffers from that infamous rear clunking sound after I installed my Tein S Tech springs and KYB shocks. I am wondering if it will go away if I buy Tein Basics or SS. Any help would be appreciated.

Describe the sound... does it happen over big bumps or all the time?

It clunks over bumps, and it is squeaky. It is real bad when the car is cold. I have done some research, and it seems common with lowered Ludes. When I get my rear brakes and slotted rotors installed, I am going to have the suspension checked.

my rears will clunk.. but only over big bumps that i should be avoiding, anyways. Check your bushings, and other random suspension components as I have actually quite a bit of squeaking, but not from the shocks or spings themselves.

Even the clunk I just mentioned may not even be my Teins now that I think about it...

From my experience with the basics... there are no sounds made by them themselves.

One time, my oil dipstick was left a little out and when I would hit vtec, the oil would spurt out. It ended up getting all over the strut nut on the driver side shock (teins) and it actually loosesned that nut, causing it to clank like hell well when it would switch loads... so check your rear strut nuts and see i ytheyre loose at all... just pull back the trunk liner and check, isnt too hard. Make sure eberything is torqued to spec.

Yea, check all the nuts on the top of the shocks.

My Tein SS do it when its cold out over speed humps. I've just gotten used to it. I dont know if it would do it if I lowered the dampening though, I'm on 14/14 right now.
