Take leather cover off of stock vtec seats?

Has anyone taken the covers off of their 4th gen stock front seats before?
I went in there to see how it would be done, and i found 2 zippers on the back of the top section and metal rings holding some of it together.

Is it possible to take these covers off?

We are dealing with 94 leather seats, then i'll put putting them on my 92 Si seats.

Bumping for an answer as I have some leather seats that I'd rather take the covers off instead of shipping them!

If it is anything like the seats I have taken apart, it works...yes... but, the leather is glued to the foam. So, you'd have to reglue it and repair the foam that pulls away with the cover.

Why would you swap the covers instead of just swapping seats?

it is possible they are no glued on

up at the top there is a bar thet it sewinto the cover that is bent around some framing in the seat you need to cut that and then hog ring it back on later. there are also alot of springs that are atached that go through and hook to the seat frame.

not to hard i had to take mine apart and restich a few seams that came apart.

The covers are held on by hog rings. They look like staples that you crimp to make the covers stay on. You will need the following things to uninstall your covers and install new ones:

A cutters that will cut through metal
Hog Ring Pliers
A large pack of new hog rings
a friend to help you position the new covers correctly while you hog ring it into place.

I did an uninstall and install of new covers in about 3 hours for all 4 seats with a friend of mine.
