Tail lights blew out...

Hello everyone.

On the way home from class, a guy flagged me down to tell me my tail lights were out. I went to the gas station, and saw the fuse was blown. I replaced it, and it blew right away.

Has this happened to anyone, or are there any words of wisdom for me?

BTW, they are the stock lights.

Oh yeah, on the way home with my hazards on, my headlights and gauge cluster shut off, only for a couple seconds. I am beginning to get worried that this may be a bigger problem.

I haven't had any prior instances, but I am thinking this may be due to me getting rear ended a couple months back.

Thanks a lot

check some of the other fuses in your box to see if any others are blown
after that, check the wires that go into the taillights to see if anythings loose

Thanks. I'll do that tommorrow. I had 9 hours of work plus 4 hours of class, all after 2 hours of sleep.

Please just let it be something simple (cheap)

If the fuse keeps going out you have a short somewhere. You can try to find out where it is by testing wires or maybe take it in to a shop specializing in electric/wiring problems.
