what kind of adhesive shoud/can i use to make a tail light cover stick to the tail light? I'm looking for something that'll definitely hold (obviously), but something that I would also be able to remove (with/without the help of a solvent) later. Basically, something that sticks well, but can be removed, and something that won't damage or alter the appearance of the tail light lens after it's been removed.
the only thing i know of is the ol' velcro trick. you could try sticking it where the lights don't shine. that way it won't be too obvious when the lights be a shinin'

use double sided tape. 3m makes some good foamy double sided tape. You wil be able to get it off if you need too. If you dont want it to come off it won. What kinda covers do you have i wanna see them.
actually (lol), I'm making my own. I know, I know, it sounds like a sick combination between rice and shadetree, but I figure why ask for Azect covers if I can't even get those damn skirts?! I'm going to try and get the material today omw to and from work, then when I get home I'll do a little pre-stick experimentation and take some pics. With that doublesided tape, does it leave a gap? IE: when the covers are on, will I be able to see space between the covers and the taillights? Warning, whatever I do may not be welcomed here, most people just like their huge triangular tail lights, me on the other hand, well, they're starting to bother me. Thanks for the help fellas.
Okay, picked up the material the other day, it's basically just sign-quality vinyl with it's own adhesive backing. I've cut two covers out, but I'm either challenged or it is in fact a lot harder than it seems to cut out material to fit snugly over the tail light. Upon curling part of the vinyl over the outer edge of the light, I was left with an air-bubble, or rather an excess amount somewhere else sticking up. My solution still leaves me wondering if it can even be called that. I'll post some pics if get these one this weekend. It's mighty cold and windy though, and the guy at the sign shop said to apply it in warm temps, so I can either sit outside in the tundra with a hairdryer while all my neighbors laugh at me from within their homes, or I can wait a few days.
nothing like that. What did you use for the covers, or did you paint over those? If you used covers, and had to fold them over the edge of the taillight (folding them onto the left and right sides of car from the face of the tail light), how did you do it so there were no excess bits that couldn't be properly "distributed"? I have perhaps some of the worst descriptive language, but if you get at all what i'm trying to ask, lemme know. thanks.
I'd like to avoid having them painted, while i've cut my covers out and have placed them on the tail lights to see how they look, I'm anticipating the possibility that I may no like them, so the fact that they can be removed is a +. I do have a spare set of tail lights, but still, one less thing to have painted is always good, although I don't know about cost factor, this vinyl that I bought was pretty steep, and I might've butchered the only sheet that I bought.
