Tach problem....

Okay, today while driving down the road my tach starts jumping randomly, but ONLY under 3k RPM. This worries me because last time this happened, my engine blew a week later. A few weeks ago, i cranked it up - and the car just died and took AT LEAST 5 seconds to start up again. It has been starting kinda slow. Anyone have a clue what could be wrong? I am gonna go ahead and change my oil about 800 miles before, just to be safe.....and make sure it's not lubrication.

This is Off Topic, but the NAPA Gold Filter works like a charm!!!

Any advice/opinions/suggestions would be helpful!

Thanks.
Jonathan

Sounds like a problem with the gauge, not the engine.
Is there anyway you can hook up an aftermarket tach to test it?
