how can you tell if your tps is bad what does your car do mine idles funny and its getting on my nerves kills gas too i only get about close to 300 miles to a tank of gas if that

i dont think its a vacum leak like people have been telling me because it did it on the h23 motor and when i got the h22 block i switched some of the stuff over to the new motor i already replaced the IAC.

close to 300 isnt that bad. how many gallons of gas do u use to get that far?

Damn I got 21 MPG the first, last, and only time I've checked it. All small city driving. How 'bout you guys?

i think i have bad gas milege too, i get 25mpg but mostly hwy driving

I get around 19 mpg, that's about 280 miles a tank, but that's with a lot of VTEC. 300 to a tank isn't that bad.

mine has got to be bad compared to what it is supposed to my friend with a eclipse gs-t drove my car and he said it was real ****y compared to his but i think my tps is bad which is making my idle fvcked up

alot of the time the TPS valve will throw a code so if you engine light comes on check the little light on you ECU if you have one and check the blink pattern , i think its 14 but i might be wrong, also there is one called the fast idle thermo valve or something, it can cause problems with idle
I notice a big problem when its messed up the car revs from low idle to just under 2kRPM .. see if you can get a shop or someone who has the code reader to hook it up to your car and see if it can pull a code and narrow it down for you
