Sway Bar sets

I was wondering if sway bars are designed to function as the set from the manufacterer. By this I mean, can you mix and match front and rear bars from different manufacterers as based on thickness and power?

For example:
$179 Neuspeed Front Sway Bar 25mm
$329 Neuspeed Rear Sway Bar 25mm

$225 Tanabe Sustec Front 27.5mm
$225 Tanabe Sustec Rear 25.4mm

$140 Suspension Techniques Front 28.125mm
$140 Suspension Techniques Rear 25mm

Keep in mind the ST rear wont fit my car, since I have 4WS. There I am thinking what if you used the Tanabe rear bar (.4mm thicker than neusped and $100 cheaper), and then you used either the neuspeed or ST front bar? Would this work well?

Also, one thing in general, why is it that the front bars are always thicker than the rears? I would think the rears would be a little thicker so that would could get the tail a little more swing happy since we are running FWD. Any ideas?

Thanks, Jordan

I would imagine that you could mix and match no problem.

The reason the front is bigger is because of the weight of the engine is up there, plus thats where the lean starts when your turning.

I wasnt really thinking of that, more of the understeer/oversteer issue....

Id probably go with the tanabe rear bar sicne its .4 mm thicker and is cheaper than neuspeed... Which front bar would be a good match with that? I dont think the tanabe front is for the money cause its an extra 50-75$, which would let me have enough money to get the spoon rear strut bar.

So which do you think would function better with the 25.4mm rear bar, the ST (28.125mm) or neuspeed (25mm). How would the extra 3.125mm up front effect the cornering (better or worse)? would it effect under/oversteer alot? Also would it make the front alot more stiff?
