Swapping SH Motor into my 4th gen

I am looking into purchasing an SH motor to swap into my 4th gen but I now have more questions than answers. I have read that I would not be able to use the trans with my car because of the ATTS but I also read that it can be disabled on SH's in order to handle 250+ hp (ATTS clutches slip after that). If it can be disabled and I have the parts car at my disposal then why can't I simply swap the motor, trans, harness, and ECU into my car? I know that I need an adapter to bolt the motor up to my trans but I would rather just use the whole swap. Any help would be great.

I'm not sure disabling ATTS will solve the problem. The axles are still connected via the clutches, whether or not the controller still operates. Plus, it would be useless to swap in an ATTS drivetrain if you are just going to permanently disable it.

It may be possible to get an ATTS tranny into a 4th gen, but the issue there would be getting the right control arms to accommodate the axle difference. I haven't worked with this stuff, so I can't give you details. I would try and find users here or H-T who have succeeded in this swap and ask them.

Maybe it would be better to just bite the bullet and buy JDM H22 with trans and ECU for $2k. Just really wanted to make the $1000 swap with 80,000 original miles work

No its a friend of mine local in NJ but I found a base motor, trans, ecu, harness, and axles for the same price with the same miles so its a no brainer.

It'll work fine. Buy an adapter plate from PirateMcFred on honda-tech. That'll let you use a non-SH transmission.

There aren't any SH 4th gen axles, so there's no way at all for you to use that trans. ATTS wouldn't even fit in the 4th gen chassis.

Ok thanks, I kind of want a tranny too while I am taking it all apart since I have a few very small grinds in 3rd and 5th but I have already talked to Pirate and he will help me out if I do go with the SH motor.
