Swapping OBDII motor into OBDI car? - Honda Prelude Forum

I found a killer deal on a 96 H22a swap package. . .only problem is, thats the first year of OBDII engines and my car is wired for OBDI. Does anyone know what is required to make OBDII motors work in OBDI cars? I know OBDI motors in OBDII cars are a pain to wire, but I have heard a sistuation like mine is less of a problem. I was told you may just need to use an OBDI H22a ECU.

Buy an OBD-I H22A ECU, and then buy an OBD-II to OBD-I conversion harness.

all you need is the obd1 ecu....you will just use your engine harness anyways...its the same..just need to get the vtec sol and oil press plug off the other harness..peace

Prelude Racer is right you don't need a conversion harness...the engine harness will just ignore the extra OBDII wires added...

Ok... I was a tad off. Having never done the swap I was not entirely sure. I apologize for my ignorance.
