Sunroof removal write up

Tools need:
Philips Screw driver
Socket wrench
10mm deep socket
or short extention

Open the sunroof, and remove the sunroof interior trim. This piece comes right off by pulling on it.

Next using the sunroof button position the sunroof so that the screws line up with the notches in the sunroof frame. Then remove two small philips screws, one on each side.

There are five clips that hold the roof liner to the sunroof. Two of them are in the front and three of them are in the middle. (Theres a picture further down with the liner out you can see where the clips are.)

After all the clips are loose, pull the liner slightly forward. There is a small lip holding the rear of the liner to the sunroof.

After you pull the liner out of the lip push the liner back towards the rear of the car, the entire liner will slide right out.

Here you can see where the clips are located.

Remove eight 10mm nuts that hold the sunroof on. There are four nuts on each side.

Lastly lift the sunroof panel out.

ehhh I did this last weekend.....Honestly I would say dont do it unless you have a REALLY good reason. I greased my rails and tried to make it rattle a little less...it was pretty easy coming off but a complete PAIN IN TEH AS$ to get back in, i broke 3 of those little clips, I suppose it isnt much worse than before but you'll break some, if not all of those clips, thus making it less sturdy.

whatever though maybe you'll have better luck than I did.

I managed to slavage all the clips. Not a issue since the glass roof dosnt need the headliner piece.

. . . going the the FAQ after discussion dies down.

My sunroof does not rattle. I'm taking it out because theres rust on mine and I'm going to replace it. Once you have the sunroof out you can look around to see whats moving. If you're carefull and don't you too much force the clips will be fine. What I would do is remove the liner close the sunroof and see if it still rattles. Is it stops then the liner is the problem. I don't think it is though. Try to isolate where the sound is coming from.

My windows do rattle, both sides now.. very annoying.. I'll look at this next to see what can be done about it.

TSB's to interior squeaks, thumps, creaks, rattles and other noises

Couple of TSB's according to what honda thinks makes a sunroof rattle.
