From Helms:

1. Remove the front of the roof trim

2. Align the location A (illustration shows A to be a 'C' cut into the metal frame, making an inset half-moon so that a screw can be removed through it) position of the frame to the mounting screw.

3. Remove the mounting screws and clips, then slide the sunroof liner slightly forward.

NOTE: Take care not to scratch the sunroof liner

(There are two mounting screws, both on the sides of the sunroof almost to the front corners)

(There are 5 clips holding the liner in, 2 on the front line of the sunroof [closest to the sun visors] , closer to the center, and 3 at the mid section of the sunroof, 2 on either side, half way back, half way forward, and the third in the center of the sunroof [center lengthwise and widthwise]

(The holder is like a snake's mouth grabbing onto a piece of paper, you have to pull the liner forward out of the mouth, down a bit, then let it move back under the snake's lower lip.)

4. Slide the sunroof liner backward, then remove it.

5. Remove the mounting nuts from the panel brackets on both sides, thn remove the sunroof panel by lifting up.

NOTE: Do not damage the roof panel.

(There are 6 1.0mm nuts, torque specs are 6.5 lb-ft, or 9 Nm)

6. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.

NOTE: Before installing the sunroof liner, close the sunroof panel fully, then check for closing alignment. If necessary, adjust the sunroof panel alignment (see page 20-30 [basically, ask me ] )

NOTE: When installing the sunroof liner, make sure the sunroof liner is fastened correctly with the clips and holder.

7. Check for water leaks.

NOTE: Do not use high pressure water.

Hope this helps, sorry for no pics, but check out this link, you can click on the part #s to get a description:

The catalog was set for my car, a 94 Si, I'm sure it's the same for all years.

When I took my sunroof apart, I noticed the sunroof liner wasn't as "tight" as before.. even after alignment - would it be adviseable to replace the liner if possible?

I too have a small rust spot up there, and plan to take it off very soon. Excellent response 4thgenready2go. Bravo and thank you.

Instructions are spot on...only thing I'd add

If removing the rubber seal, get some silicone sealant for when you put it back on, mine leaks a little at the minute so I need to take it back out and seal it.

Always learn the hard way

Did it work, or has he not gotten a chance yet to remove it? Like I said earlier, I forgot instructions on removing the railing, so if you need those, let me know, I need to brush up on my typing anyway
