Sunroof : Putting back in troubles

I recently took out my roof to fix it up. Now I am in the process of trying to get it back in there but am having issues. Sometimes the back is catching, if I move the rails slightly forward the front catches..... and on and on... I was wondering if there was a trick to get the roof to fit in without all this adjustment. Do the shims play a role in getting it to fit properly, other than in respects to height.
I could really use some help.

Thanks

1. you make sure both rails are pressend inwards > | | <
2. you close the roof to about 1 inch of crack open
3. you just lay it on top of the rails
4. you get inside and put one side in and move the other side in too, slowly
5. skrew it in. and then have fun with that vinyl thing
