Summer tires?

Hello boyos. I have another question for you all:

Tires.

I already have a set of winter tires, and I am looking into buying summer ones. Now my question is, if I don't get Z-Rated tires, is there really much of a difference between H-Rated and V-Rated??

I am basically debating whether or not to get the H-Rated or V-Rated...lets say I could save $100 if I get the H-Rated ones.

Any comments would be appreciated!

I just got some Kumho Ecsta 711's (205/55/ZR15)

Very sticky, better the the Ecsta Supra 712's

Treadwear 260 Traction AA Temp A = Super Kung Fu grip, for about 30k miles that is.

There's not much of a speed rating difference [for street use] between H and V rated tyres. At least not one you'll use. With V rated tyres, you move into more aggressive tread patterns, and better lateral grip. If you don't drive like a maniac everywhere, and don't race your car (or have separate race tyres), you can totally use H rated tyres.

I have Kumho's as well, and, they're ok. For the money, you can't beat it, and they're great in the rain as well. My main complaint, is that the rubber compound is way too hard for autoXing, especially because you don't have time to warm them up. Though, when you do get them warmed up, they perform very well (much the same as the Toyo FZ4).

I've never tried the regular Ecsta's, but the Ecsta Supras are in my book.

Ahh.. see what I heard is that there is NO difference in handling between H and V rated tires. I heard that the only difference is the higher spped rating. Correct me if I am wrong...

I think what he was trying to say is that usally v rated tires have a better tread design and have more grip then your average h rated tire.
