I can get all the info I need on car audio in the car audio section. Just point out in your thread topics that it is 4th gen specific and they jump all over it. Welcome to the board. Hope you like it here!

Way to take command with your first post!

#1- Welcome to the site. I hope you enjoy it.

#2- Having sub topics would waste too much bandwidth, that is why there are seperate forums for the subject. Audio is pretty much universal, anyways.

Yeah, it's pretty sad. Hopefully Chris will one day have enough funds and time to re-open it.

That's because it looks like every other board out there- not original. Back to the topic (and before this gets locked), what kind of audio system do you have, marcus?

The audio section already doesn't get much action. Why would you want to or need to make them gen specific especially when most problems with audio depend more on the set up then the car they are put in.

..brendon..yeah..realized that..i was just thinking it would be more organized..but yeah, i guess it really isn't needed..

..oh, i'm a newbie at all this..i'm just now learning..

..well, the car is stock..got it from this guy about two weeks ago..came with an old sony head unit..got polks in the back..not sure what kind..and i swear blown factory speakers up front that are destroyed..all the sound is coming out of the rear right now..

..i'm wanting a Kenwood Excelon KDC-X959 since it's cheap from the Exchange catalog (about 349..and i'm a military brat)..

..i'm also wanting infinity components up front..says the kappas won't fit on crutchfield..and the guy said that it's too deep, unless i get it custom done or hack away at it myself..
..i hear a lot of good about DEIs though..i just want to know if they'll fit in a 4th gen..that's basically why i ended up starting this thread..
..or i could just get the references..

..and would components in the back be overkill?..or would regular 6 1/2s back there be just as good?..

..sub and amp..not too worried about it right now..i still gotta save up for these..and an engine swap..and conversion to manual..

last..preludechic
..what does "before this gets locked up" mean?

Welcome to the board!

I would say just some nice coaxial 6 1/2's in the back, rear fill is overrated but necessary. Also check out some of Alpines offerings for components up front, I've always liked the sounds of Alpines silk dome tweeters.

Same thing with my Infintiy Kappas. They fit. It's tight, but they fit.

I don't have them in the front, they're in the back. They BARELY fit back there, so they wouldn't fit the doors without doing some cutting. I have the 3 way speakers of course so they're taller than the 2 ways. I don't know if the 2 ways would fit up there...I DO have Eclipse 2 way speakers in the doors that fit without modification though.
