Stupid question.. but who knows.

This could be a stupid question to y'all but I am wondering if I can swap the Si ECU into my S.. is it gonna do anything better?

coz I have F20A.. 150hp instead of 135hp (original S).. so I might wanna try to put in the Si ECU and see if I could get alittle bit better out of it..

any comments?

Since I won't have any money until I graduated and found a job.. so I really wanna try and see if it feels any difference..

if any of y'all have the Si ECU about to throw away.. mind lend/give it to me to do experiment? I will pay the shipping..

Thanks

What ecu are you using??

Cause basically yeah if you have a DOHC motor and you're using an SOHC F22 ecu you're missing out...

Actually.. you know what.. I started feeling confused and curious about the engine under the hood. F20A is supposed to be a DOHC.. but the one on my car is SOHC. however, the engine code is F20A.. why???

satan.. can you explain this to me? what could be possible if my engine is F20A and the head is SOHC? I know for the fact that F20A is DOHC... this is driving me crazy now.. and the ecu I am using now is for F22...

that's totally messed up!!!

Please help.

i have a similar situation on my civic, i got a ZC but its SOHC not DOHC like most ZC's engine are.

did you have a shop do the swap? i am assuming your other engine was SOHC? my guess is if a shop is just replacing an engine, that it will try to put the same type back in there...

see, I didn't do the swap.. when I first bought the car about 9 months ago.. it came with it as is.. it is an used car..

in fact, i used to have problem with this issue as I broke one of the valve cover bolt and I can't find the exact bolt to replace... that's how I found out it is not F22.. and then luckily I got the replacement from a local shop..

so, do y'all think I should bring it to honda dealer and get an explanation?

It may be your old F22a head with an F20a block...I mean it's just a block code, it doesn't mean that's your engine...

The F20A and F22A blocks are exactly the same really...

one thing you might try is finding out where the car is from, calling the honda dealership of that location and see if that car is in its service records... they might know what is goin on. its worked for my friend before.

Also, you sould read off your ecu code on the ecu as well....

Plus on the head

Just above one of the exhaust ports should be the code stamped in the block. On this one it's PCB = F20B, on H22a it's P13 etc etc...
