try pressing the lower bottun

actually the light on the dash isnt supposed to come on when you press the button. It turns on when you press the lower button on the steering wheel.

also, make sure that your foot isn't resting on the clutch at all because it wont engage.

I thought mine was broke for a while but I noticed that I have a habit of resting my foot slightly on the clutch pedel

the upper button when you press it, it resumes your old set speed speed (like if you hit the brake, but your cruize is still on)
when you hold it, it accelerates when cruize in engaged

the bottom button when you press it, it sets the speed at what you are currecntly at.
when you hold it, it makes the car coast.

when im driving if somebody pisses me off and im in cruise and want to blow by them or outrun a tailgater I tap the brake to disable cruise and slam on the gas .. or drop gears what have you .

I keep the cruis button presed in an when I push the decelerate/lower/minus button the green "CRUISE" lights up on the dashboard. I think you need to be above 2000rpm though ..

go cruising, foot on gas other foot off both pedals, cruise switch on and hit the lower (at 3000rpm) it should work .. its really nice on long drives that you just want to coast.

Does leaving the cruise control button on all the time hurt anything? Does it shorten the life span of the cruise control or something? Why is it even there?

I tried it, when i hit the lower button the green light comes on on the dash, but when i take my foot off the gas, the car decelerates like normal. Do i have to keep my hand down on the lower button all the time for it to keep cruising????

Maybe you want to check your cruise control cable on the throttle body

Sounds like a cruise control problem.

also, check all the vacumn lines going to the cc actuator, if you've messed with any accessory belts or the timingbelt you or your mechanic may have left them unattached

I think you just have to be going over 25mph.

By the way, when your cruise control is working and you're going over varying terrain, like hills, let your right foot touch the gas pedal just enough so that you can feel the car pressing and lifting it on its own. It's pretty cool! If you come to a hill, you'll suddenly feel the gas pedal go down like an inch all by itself.

You should only have to press the bottom one instantaneously.
