Is there any point in spending a bunch of cash to buy name brand (i.e. dc sports, etc...) strut bars (front upper, rear upper, rear lower) or are the cheaper ones just as good at gettin the job done?
It seems to me like your just payin for a name or a logo most of the time (atleast with this type of equipment) but maybe that's not the case.
YES! i believe that they do make a difference. I prefer Neuspeed One piece strut tower bar just because it would make sense that it's stiffer. I bought some of those cheesy ones on ebay and it looks like it's just a generic strut bar that works with 10 other cars... it didn't fit very well, the aluminum seems weak and the whole bar is held by screws which seemed to wreck the thread on the aluminum bar. Also, it didn't fit properlly on my h22a1 lude... the bar was a little bit longer and it wouldn't go in properlly... it cost me $16.00 + S&H and it's not even worth returning coz it's gonna cost just as much to ship it. I'm just gonna remove the bar and keep it in the car as protection
I'm getting my neuspeed in a few days so i cant wait.. it'll definitely improve handling coz the engine is so heavy!
I lucked out and found a guy parting out his Lude in California.... and now i am working out a great deal..... i am gonna trade him my stock mirrors, stock steering wheel & stock hood for JDM folding mirrors, JDM Prelude steering wheel & get this Kaminari C/F hood... heheheh suckers time and patience and you can find what you're looking for... and in my case luck out with a sick ass deal!
i have non-name brand and they made a lot of difference. I'm not real sure if its worth all the $$$ for the Spoon, the difference cant be that much....especially for street race and auto x.

I haven't tested other bars...but honestly my Spoon bars are sick! I can't believe how much of a difference they made. Such a difference even in everyday driving...especially if you're lowered.
Ludethugs: Spoon (or Vision) is tough to get these days cause they stopped producing them..you could try James at http://www.performance-evolution.com he might be able to help ya out.

thanks for the info... hey Jose, got a pic of the Spoon? I'm really interested in what it looks... i saw a Sustec Tanabe one on ebay but it looked almost like the same "generic" strut bars they sell, except it had the logo engraved on the aluminum. thanks
