Hehe... In America, if we looked for a gas leak with a torch, we'd blow ourselves up (I know a torch is a flashlight). Does the strong smell happen after the car has been sitting, or does it occur intermittently while driving. If it occurs when the car is sitting, I believe ( but am not sure because I'm still troubleshooting myself) that it may be clogged injectors. An injector with poor spray characteristics will leave a significant residue on the intake manifold (and it will smell). Another test for this is to start your car, let it warm up, and go out to a straight road and run through a couple gears at full load. Look for excessive smoke the first time. Do it again, and see if you get as much smoke. If you don't it's nearly a sure sign that your injectors need a rebuild. The smoke will occur do to a rich incomplete combustion, which would occur if there is gas on the walls of the intake manifold. I hope this gives you some ideas.
