Street Legality???

Hey I just installed a DC sports catback, love it, but the guy who put it on said I might not pass emissions?? I was under the impression that an intake and exhaust just help airflow, and would not harm emissions at all. I'm just really curious, if anyone has experience please let me know. Thanks

Ya, it's the cat that does all the emission reduction. Leave it alone and you should be fine (unless you get a JDM engine of course).

hmmm, good question. I just know that suppliers warn that they probably won't pass. Maybe they're tuned to run rich? I dunno...

This is pretty funny but, well i had my last emissions here in texas about a year ago, this was before they started enforcing some hydrocarbon crap that the shop guy told me about.. strangely i had my EGR Valve topped off, i also have a straight pipe...

So i passed, and i told the guy i had these things and he's like, well it passed without any problems, just dont tell anyone you have those mods and you'll be okay, they wont notice, until next year when they have the new laws in effect..

All I can say is that it's sure nice to be in a part of the country where the laws are almost non-existent on import mods. Mississippi's good for one thing, I guess, hehe.
