Strange timing/distributor problem.

Hey guys I sent my car in for a timing belt because one day I just tried to start my car and it wouldnt start up. I checked the timing and it was off so knowing how much of a pain it is to change the timing belt, I took it to a shop. Its been there for 11 weeks now. Needless to say, Im pissed. I've talked to the guys several times and theyve changed the timing belt and checked the timing twice, changed my distributor since they said it was bad (although im skeptical about that) and now the car wont start unless the distributor is turned so far that it wont bolt up. Once it starts like that however, it sounds completely fine.

Now, I believe maybe they got the wrong distributor. They seemed surprised when I told them that this car has 3 different engines that come in it, but I dont know if the other distributors will even come close to bolting up right on the H23 (which is what i have btw). Im really at a loss here guys and will take any help/advice I can get. Im never taking my car to this shop again though.

Is it a dealership or just a local shop? Sounds to me like they possibly got the wrong distributor. I know when I had my H23 I blew through two distributors in one summer. The original went out, bought a refurbished which went out after a couple months, bought a brand new one and finally swapped the motor out.

But yeah, 11 weeks is obscene. I'd call a tow company and have them take it to a Honda dealer. Then i'd pay the shop where it's at now for the timing belt work and if they try to add any other charges on there i'd take them to civil court :/

Yeah its a local shop. So having a wrong distributor, it would still bolt up but just not work properly/on the correct timing?
