OT but b16b is a type-r motor. Del Sol is like a B16A2

straight pipes? where are u from? its going to sound like A$$, just save the money and get a nice cat-back exhaust like GReddy, Thermal, Tanabe, DC Sports, or Apexi.

right cheahhh. i/h/e no cat no resonator. had thermal stealth catback system. now its just the muffler. it was very well worth the 40 bucks to have it done. 15.80 auto lude here.

it sounds like **** but im so used to it now i dont care. the gain i had was too much to NOT like it. heres my dyno

see the 10 hp jump at 6200? im assuming thats from the cat not being there. its nuts. mini-vtec hah

I have i/h and a flowmaster muffler I have yet to put on. I was going to eliminate the cat as well. Will eliminating the cat make that loud? I really didn't want my car to be very loud.

eliminating the cat doesnt make it too much louder IMO, mine is empty but still there, and it makes an annoying raspy rattling sounds sometimes but def. worth the gain

dude eliminating the cat is not cool. its there for a reason and the gains are really minimal. you will NEVER pass emissions without the cat, plus it sounds like ass and backfires and sputters like hell. just save the extra 50 bucks and get a hi-flow cat. its just not worth it for like 1 hp or something

compared to my buddy with same engine and tranny, same mods i got 13more hp to the wheels by doing straight pipe. it never backfires.

[we dont have emissions checks here. but i will be doing a high flow cat once i reach my 1/4 goal]

Yeah, I'm thinking about getting a hi-flow cat too. Just scared though.

ya id love to see a dyno that showed that a straight pipe netted 13whp, maybe on a turbo supra or something, but on our car, no way

I don't think he got 13 extra horsepower at the wheels throughout the entire powerband. Maybe at a certain rpm it spiked... You saw his dyno.

i just talked about it jumping after 6200, i dont see the problem.

and i explained also that a prelude with the exact same mods but WITH a cat, dynoed 13 hp less than me to the wheels. and yes i realize that not every engine has the exact same hp yadda yadda yadda.

if you dont believe it, thats great. im not here to prove myself.

I think straight pipes wouldn't sound good. I would just get a cat. but its up to you...
