Stock shocks and new springs?

I've driven my '92 Si for over 200K and it still has stock suspension (and front brake, but soon to be replaced with Brembo blanks and Axxis Metal Master pads). Some of you made fun of the wheel well gap after I replaced the stock wheels and I do want to replace the suspension. However, it will cost me around $500 (KYB AGX: $345 + Neuspeed or Eibech or H&R: $150). Since the stock shocks are still O.K. do you think I can just replace springs to lower about 1.5" or so? Or should I wait and replace shocks and springs at the same time? TIA.

moer than likely your stock shocks will last all of about 2 weeks with aftermarket springs. Usually after 100k miles you should buy new struts also.

I always advise people to do the opposite of what I have done! I learn from my mistaks I guess. Funny aye, but I say you just do it all at once. Here I am still riding on stock shocks with Neuspeed Sport Springs. My drop isn't that bad, and fortunately I haven't noticed any problems yet with my stock shocks. Eventually sometime down the road, I plan to get some Tein Adjustables. I honestly think it's a hassle having to install the two at different times.

i m dropped on aerospeed springs 1.7 front and 1.5 back, still on stock shocks. my car is 93. my shocks are prefectly fine. i get 1 or 2 squeaks, but thats bout it. i just got a set of shocks this weekend off of a 96 lude. driven by a lady, so i ma throw em on, since mine are still good, these should be in a bit better shape then mine. but yea if u gonna spend a shiet load of money might as well do the whole thing at once.
