stock radio.. code?

will i need a radio code for my stock radio after i reset the ECU? im thinking i will, and i called up a dealer for it but they wouldnt give it to me. they said they need to pull the radio and get the serial number. so after i reset the ECU, my radio will be out of order until i get the codE?

Okay, there are a couple of places that you can find the code in the car. This isn't always true, but when I worked for Honda we found them in these places about 75% of the time. If you have a 94-96 model, pull the cup holder out and look at the bottom. You will be looking for a small white label sticker with numbers on it. It might also be under the ashtray. If you can't find it there than try in the trunk behind either the left or right side trim pieces. This sounds retarded, but Honda put these stickers in these places just in case you lost the code card. If they are not in these locations, then pull the stock radio yourself, and take it to honda. They will get the code for you by pulling the serial number off of the radio.

Isn't the first one you found what you are looking for. The radio code is a 4 digit number.

I pulled mine and got the serial number. Then I called the local dealership and they gave me the number over the phone. That might be the easiest route for you to go, rather than having to travel to the dealer.

If your stock radio is not working because it needs the code, when you turn on the car the display on the radio should read "CODE."

Simply type in the five digit code on the radio key pad and you should hear a series of beeps and then the antenna should start to rise.

Set your radio stations again and your good to go.

I would simply goto the dealership. Well, that's what i did. But only thing abotu calling them, is they have to check if you own a honda and all this bs... so its better u bring ur car in... so u can show them u own one.

I found the sticker with the code on the top of the "ceiling" to the trunk, in the center. That sounds confusing to me..... it was between the bottoms of the rear speakers but slightly more towards the rear of the car.

since i have a 98 prelude where should i look first. and also how do i pull the radio out of the car? i'd tried to pull the little compartment under the stock radio to get underneath the radio so i can pull that. How do i take that compartment out and the radio? Help im dying without music and too impatient to wait for the install of my after market deck.
