Is there something in the airbox i could take out for it to be less restrictive of give me more power..... The reason im hesistant is right now im trying to save up all my money to use it at once and buy a turbo setup and everything i need in a year or two. So back to the original question.....is there anything i could do.

Since you are going with a custom setup, you can just get an AEM or wutever and use the same piping for ur turbo setup in the future...know what i mean??

I suggest buying a $20-40 AEM knock off on eBay. All intakes are pretty much the same and an eBay intake would be just as good as the AEM. Many people can confirm this to. Theres not much that I know of too decrease restriction on the stock intake. When I took my stock intake out to install my eBay intake I looked at it closely and didn't see much you could modify that would give you any gains. I guess you could remove the filter. No, please don't do that.

Yeah, you are in better luck with just going with an ebay intake.

If you want to keep it stock and not spend any money. This is definitely the way to go. Less restriction on air flow.

this is what I did

I have an AEM intake and wanted cold air, but didnt want to pay for a cold air intake, so I bought a ebay in take and modified it to fit on my previous intake and made a better cold air intake than aem, the piping is closer to the ground and the cheap intake has a larger diameter than the aem intake, so you could say my CAI is velocity stacked. plus if you remove part of the plastic under the bumper for the cone to get air straight from outside it adds power, I tested this buy trying to just remove the turn signal to give more air and that didnt help, but I definetley noticed a difference opening the cone to air underneath the car!
