I bent off my mast against my garage so i ordered a replacement but it doesnt fit! They told me to compare the new mast to my old mast in length and all that but I took it off at my friends house and he told me itd be dumb to keep it

Anywayz, now i need to figure out if my antenna motor is stock.

I'm not sure whether yours is stock, but if the one you just bought was a generic replacement, or one off ebay that says it's for a prelude they are BSing you. They do not have the stock mast height, nor the correct mounting to the car.

As much as I can remember, that looks like my old stock antenna motor. I lost it a couple years ago.

I got it off ebay.
They said it's for 92-96 prelude.

I just took mine out and your pic looks just like my stock unti so from memory I'd say yes that was it.

Funny thing is you paid $29.95 on that mast when you could have gotten the whole asembly for like $45

should work, mine looked just like that...

its really damn hard to get that mast in there though, its on gears and it coils that plastic part you see, inside the motor. I've actually opened up the whole assembly, its wack man...stupid design.
Then you wonder why they dont make those motorized antennas anymore.

Anyway, when you pulled the old mast out, did all of the plastic gear part come out? If its still stuck in there it might cause you problems....
Open that bad boy up, does no harm, just pay attention to what your doing.

Also if anyone knows how to get ride of the "CLANKING" when you turn on or off the radio, let me know...its annoying...

peace

got clanking? you need to lube your mast with WD40 or something, spray it on a cloth and stroke your mast up and down

Based on the fact that people say it looks like the regular motor, I think you got a generic mast. I got one off ebay too that didn't fit properly - I'd give bad feedback You could try cutting the plastic piece shorter though.

You don't want to know what they charge for a full replacement. My mount got crossthreaded when I tried to install the new one, and since the new mast didn't fit properly, I finally just went to Honda and said put a new motor and mast in. It took only 35 minutes but of course they charged the full hour labor and I think it was almost $75 or something for all the parts - holy **** that was the biggest waste of money ever. It's such a scam when they only take a certain amount of time to do a job, say one hour, and then they look in their book and it says charge 2 hours of labor - WTF is that?? labor is labor. Never been back

I gave up, and just screwed the mast into the hole.

Well, go figure i went to get a picture of the mast
to show you guys and i couldn't find it. I looked for
3hours. My dad has been moving stuff around the
garage but he denies movin it. Anyways ill find it soon
and ill take a pic to see how it compares to stock.

One prolem is I got the geared up string all dirty and
I scratched up the antenna sleeve a little trying to get
it down the tube. It just will not go down. So I dont
know how easy its gonna be to return it after the lil
scratches and the grease crap.
