Stiff CLutch

Does any one know if there's a way to unstiffen a clutch? Does it mean anything if it's still?

A stiff clutch is a good clutch.

nm. ya. i was tired, taking a break from studying and reading that thread.. when i was thinking "stiff" i was thinking the actualy pressure needed to push the pedal down.. in both my old jeep trucks, as the clutch started to go, the clutch got harder adn harder to press in.. "stiff" ... then.. one day.. nothing. she just dangled there =] pos trucks..god.. they were useless. hehe

and i dont even think my reply relates to his problem at all...... heh

what I mean is..

When I say stiff, I mean its a little harder to push in than I am use to. And it seems to want to bounce back out a lil bit more. I mean its not bad, but is there a way to make it not as stiff.?

stiff? I have an ACT extreme clutch in my car and its STIFF! I drove a rsx the other day and was reving the hell out of it cause i wasn't used to the clutch being so soft. Kinda funny cause it was my gf's lil sisters and her parents asked me to move the car cause they couldn't and the lil sister was out. They watched and was asking my gf if I even knew how to drive a stick.

now you know people say, if you can drive a 5 speed Prelude, you can drive any car. Preludes are the hardest car to drive a 5 speed. A class above the rest.

what? its the easiest clutch ive ever driven.... engages smoothly.. got a nice hefty fealing.. i drove a 5th gen.. and the clutch felt like i was gonna push it through the floor.. felt fragile... i love it the 4th gen clutch. =] ........ although.. 1 car i know of that was easier.. my old Jeep Wrangler.. you could teach a 1 legged man to drive that clutch.

I got a Centerforce Dual Friction Clutch put in about three weeks ago. After I got in the 500 break in miles(VERY difficult not to go WOT for 2 weeks) the clutch feels AWESOME. The pedal effort was only increased slightly and it should supposedly hold 90% more torque(Ill be testing that one of these days ) Concerning stiffness...the 4th gen has just about the stiffest clutch I have driven. The only cars I have driven with stiffer clutches are some of the pony cars(stang, old vette, and z28) and some heavy duty trucks. After owning the lude I have issues driving cars with light clutches. The prelude clutch IMO is awesome and I throughly enjoy it. Just ignore the stiffness, its worth it
