Steering wheel shakes

when i step on the brake. i jus replaced my driver side inner tie rod and it was driving fine untill now, which is 3 days. my question is does the tie rod itself moves? like can u twist it a little bit with your hands. i notice when i replace the inner tie rod it does not move at all. the reason i ask this is because my pasenger side rod moves now. should i replace the pasenger side too?also i jus resurface the rotors .. someone plz help , thx!

I was thinking it was more of your rotors. I had my rotors resurfaced and it started doing the shakes about two weeks afterwards. I have heard others have the same problems. I went with some new pads and rotors and it cured all.

The tie rods should have a little slack in them. Not alot. If there is alot of slack in the passenger tie rod you might as well replace it as well before you get an alignment.

I'm leaning more towards your rotors being warped and causing the shakes.

Andy

i was thinking the same that my rotor might jus be warp again. i try sliding my fingers through both rotors and it seems fine. i just purchase a pair of axxis pads so i might as well resurface the rotors again. but the problem is when i took both tires out to look at the tie rods , the driver side one which i jus fix it does not move at all, ther is no play whatsoever, so i went over the other side and see if i can move it, and it has a little play. it whobbles a little. that might be the problem i dunno. just fix it for 120 include installation, i dont wanna spend more money

I would suspect your rotors also. The surfacing job maybe bad or something is between the rotor and hub causing the rotor to run out. Either way, depending how much you have already driven your car, the rotor maybe toast again.

If you are near the limit (~0.920") on re-surfacing the rotor, get a new one. New they are around $35.

you know the lug nuts that hold your wheels on the car? Did you tighten them up to spec?

It's a good idea to get both inner and outer tie-rods on both sides replaced at the same time. You will deffinitely need to get 4 wheel alignment done after this.
