steering noise? out of power steering fluid?

Hey guys i need help,
after a night of not driving my lude it makes a wierd noise when i turn the steering wheel. the noise like when we are out of steering power fluid. but it only happens after not driving it for like 7-9hrs.
idk why its makin this noise because it has steering fluid still?
any advice.

bad pump.....you can rebuild it

I have an extra pump I got with my h22....

driving 7-9 hrs? How often do you drive that long?

I think he meant after not driving it for 7-9 hours. Meaning it's been sitting for 7-9 hours.

7-9 hours allows the pump to completely cool including the fluid, stuff gets pretty hot.............like the rest of your motor. Tolerances are probably out

ok cool, i have a h23 tho, does it matter if yours is for h22

so you're sure its the power steering pump?
also the seal your talkin about is part number 21?
so i need to get part 17,18, and 21?

yeah # 21 for the seal.........it may just be one of those bearing not both but they're cheap.....

If this dosent work probley have to rebuild, Try removing a pint of the fluid and replace it with Lucas power steering conditioner nas sealant, this should take care of your problem thanks k.pruett@sbcglobal.net oklahoma
