Steering Gearbox... Torn boot.. fluid leaking..

The boot on my passenger side steering gearbox, has been torn (but not to bad) for some time now.... but just recently it has begun leaking Power Steering fluid. I have to put half a bottle of PS fluid almost every week &a half. I pulled the boot back alil & it doesn't look like any dirt or grime got in there... my Q is...
Do I have to replace everything (the whole steering box) or can I just replace the boot. & if it is only the boot I have to replace... do I have to disassemble the whole thing ... or can I just undo the Tie Rod end on the passenger side .... slide the old boot out & replace it with the new one?

your help will be greatly appreciated... Thanks

Ceasar

if you have to slide the boot over the dirty part, you may get some dirt and crap inside the new boot. my guess would be that you could just replace the boot if you made sure everything was clean.

My boots are torn but they do not leak power steering fluid. I think you have a bigger problem.

Yea unfortunately.... I'm thinking the same thing... I think I might have to replace the shaft with a Reman. one. It's ganna run me $240 (just the part.. no labor). I wonder if I can replace it myself & save some $$..?
