Steeing wheel vibrating

I just got my tires rotated and now when i'm driving the wheel shakes around alot. Is this normal? I thought it just needs to wear in a little since it's now the back tires on the front and the front on the back.

Does this happen when braking, or all the time?

I agree that an alignment might be needed.

yeah coz thats what happened to me before...had the same problem and also my brakes are warped..so i did everything...had an alignment and then got my rotors resurfaced and put in new brake pads ....now...everything is perfect.....and also...look at the tires and see if there are any uneven wear on the tires...if the inside of the tires are gettin worn faster...so...you might have to buy new tires if thats the case....

yea it doesn't happen when braking, brakes feel pretty strong and this was never happening before the change. It seems when i get above 30mph the shake starts to happen. The tires must be worn weird or something. I guess my best bet is to bring it back to the shop and ask them what the deal is.

More than likely the balance is out on one of the (now) front wheels. It could also be uneven wear on the tire, in which case all you can do is move it back to the rear of the car or replace it.

It's more than likely not an alignment, though you might want to have it checked if you had uneven wear in the front (now rear) tires.

yea it's just disapointing, i mean there is only about 6,000 miles on the tires and buying new ones would be a waste. I could move them back but doesn't that defeat the whole purpose of rotating the tires? I can take my hands of the wheel and it will drive in a straight line so alignment isn't a problem. It's really bothering me right now though, because i'm worried i might be hurting something else by letting this go on. I just got them rotated yesterday and put about 60miles on them and no change yet.

This happened to me, too, right after I had my brand new tires installed, and had the front end aligned. It ends up that I had to have one of the front wheels re-balanced. Now it's perfect.

Well i brought it back to the place today and they now tell me that it is probably the blance but they do not have the equipment to do it. So i brought it over to firestone and had it done. The guy said he had to add a lot of weight to one wheel. Rides good now.
thanks for the feedback

That's good to hear, man. Right on, right on!! This is a common problem to many people. Sometimes is just as simple as re-balancing your wheels.
