Starting Air Valve on 4th gen (restart thread)

Ok, I found out what was wrong with my intake.

before, when I tapped on the gas, i couldnt rev below 2k rpms.. no matter how fast/light i *tapped* the gas, it would choke and rev to 2k. I took off that nipple, and now its free, I can rev to however low RPM I want. I turned off the car, and started it up again to see if it would choke a lil like before... nope. I havnt tested it to see if my rev's still surge w/ the A/C on. I dont want to leave it off, because its unfiltered. Im going to have to cut a hole in the intake.

See that nipple on the end of the metal tube? TAKE IT OFF!!

test this everyone who was having problems. Thatch, I hope this solves your problems bro!

When I had that rubber nipple on, if i just tapped the gas... I couldnt rev UNDER 2k rpms... like it would choke right when i tapped it, then gasp for air after, and rev to 2k........ hard to explain.

On the DAC, theres an inlet for this tube. AEM didnt make one. see it, on top of the intake, before the throttle body. so i have to cut a hole in my aem.

Yeah, I tried plugging mine.. just to see what would happen. I had that same situation. So I took the cap back off.

Now the hose is just dangling as it was when I first put my type-s intake on. So I'll eventually drill a hole for it, as the 5th gens don't have that little tube there, must be somewhere else.

Well, I'm doing something a little different with my intake.. I'll tell everyone when I'm done with it.. if I ever start it that is. If I ever get down there, I'll show you whats up Jon!
