starter dead? which for a JDM F22B???

Ok so after my H23A1 on my '93 Si (non-vtec) died I had an f22b put in it because it was the cheapest motor the shop could put in.

I think my starter's out (just one "CLICK" at the turn-key, sound about right?, battery is charged b/c headlights/high-beams power on full, do not dim when trying to start car)

anyone know if my starter will need to be a JDM part or wil the USDM starter for the H23A1 work?? I've heard the motors are nearly the same thing.... but I don't know for sure and the shop owner is apparently too busy to help me... I've called 4 or 5 times but he won't call me back after talking to his 'importer'.

the starters should work exactly the same. your current starter probly just needs the connectors resoldered or something you should swap them out and take the broken one, open it up, and solder the connectors back on and see if that fixes it.

worked!

i took out/apart the starter, cleaned out the motor brushes and commutator with LectraMotive electrical (non-flammable) parts cleaner, and made sure the solenoid was free moving.

its worked for about a week now with no issues, so i'm assuming i'm good.
it may not last as long as say a new starter, but even if it lasts a year it was only $5 for the can of cleaner!!!
