srs unit?

kinda a stupid question but just wonderin if the srs unit(brain that controls the airbags) is the same in all 4th prelude models and yrs?

no theyre not. the 4th gens differ from the 5th gens. the 4th gen's unit is 2 part while the 5th gen is all one part.

i meant, only in 4th gens, s, si, vtec models! not tryin to compare w a 5th or anythin.....thnx

some 4th gens came with only one airbag... i think that was only in 1992 but i am unsure...

my 93 SI has only one airbag... was an option that year. passengers just weigh my car down anyway

is the srs unit in a 93vtec different than a 96vtec srs unit module? will it still work?

have you tried looking at the part numbers....I'd just call Honda

theyre different. in 1996 in the switch to ODB II they went with the 2 part SRS unit, like in the 5th gens. the part numbers differ, I checked to be sure.
