Well I changed my rear sway bar endlinks and the car is a little quieter now. Still have a few little noises here and there but they're not that bad. At least now I don't need to have the music all the way up so I don't hear them.
BTW changing the sway bar endlinks is a real PITA. The hex wrench stripped the inside of the endlinks so we had to use a vice grip to hold it so it doesn't turn. On one side the vice grip wouldn't hold it tight enough and we had to cut it.
Yep, definitely an issue when I was putting the rear swaybar in - was 'just' able to take it off by hand, but reaching human physical limits (ie my hands were sore lol).
Btw I noticed a screw was loose off one of my rear speaker spacers so I tightened it up again - it got rid of the 'wobble' sound, but still got the clunking
Yeah guys, don't overlook the rear bumper thing. That happened to me with my silver 4th gen, I had the infamous rear knock/clunk... trouble shot the damn suspension etc FOREVER, turned out that it was just the (2 I think) nuts that hold on the rear bumper/support(exactly like the 2 nuts in the bay that hold the front bumper/support). So check those, tighten them up real good.
i just tried putting extra washer on top of the suspention. didn't work. lol i have all the panels out to install the fuel pump right now and i noticed the two bolts on each side that holds the bumper support. i tightend them and still no good. i guess we just gotta try more thigns
With the car on the hoist, I gave the muffler a good push sideways, up and down, no clunk - I don't think riding on the road would make it move anymore than what I had made it do... I'm putting my money on the rear LCA bushes - hopefully get them this week and put them in
i have the exact same clunk and rattle with my Kyb AGX's and H&R sports...i hope somebody can figure out the source of the rattle soon. The noise on my prelude comes from my drivers side rear.
update - apparently the ES kit I ordered didn't have the rear trailing arm bushes in the box (grrr) so I've ordered some in and should be ready by tomorrow (thurs)
Squeaks = gone
Steering response = improved
turn-in = more rigid, thus more predictable
road noise = slightly more, but negligible
WOBBLING NOISE = GONE
CLUNKING = .... STILL THEREEEEEE
But it's not bad news - I thought the clunking noise was coming from one component - however I've divided it up into two noises - the wobbling noise came from worn trailing arm bushes which allowed a slight amount of play causing a wobble noise. The increase play increased the chances of the clunking over even the slightes bumps on any road surface.
The good news is that now that the wobble noise is gone, the clunks have reduced by about 80%. Where does the clunking come from (for me)? The ball/collar joint to the pillow ball mount on my teins - apparently it's a wear and tear issue that nothing short of an entire strut replacement wouldn't sort out - I'm happy enough
Ok .. after recently having my hood off, the pass. side hood hinge ... when I shook the driver side left/right it was solid, the pass one moved a lot .. had my friend wiggle it while i as in the car... definately sounds like its coming from the tweeter. I'll be getting one of those from honda for sure... Score 1 rattle for me from this thread
** Update ** with ES motormoutn inserts, my car really rattles from the tweeter at idle ... when I get ot of my car, sure as **** . its the hood hinge. should be a tsb .. dammit!

what did you actually change? and where did you purchase it? how much? difficult to install? haha sorry about too many question~
Unfortunately I'm not sure which one exactly helped the issue - perhaps get it checked by a suspension specialist to see which ones look like they've deteriorated badly and see if ES stocks them...
As for me, looks like I'll be saving for a tein flex system some time next year to replace my HA's...

I just installed my new suspension today (KYB AGX with Neuspeed Springs). The clunking noise is coming from the rear and its pissing me off. Haven't narrowed the source of it yet.
I hear that same clunking noise when going over a bump, sounds like it's coming from the driver side rear strut. I just got my Tokico Suspension kit about 6 months, and I also hear the front driver side shock knock when I go over a bump. It happens more when it's cold outside though. On a nice warm day, I dont hear much noise coming from the suspension at all.
It seems that the cold makes my car all noisy haha. I might look into that ES suspension kit cause with all the noise my car makes when driving on rough roads (on a cold day), makes me wanna trade the lude in for an SRT4

It's definitely coming from the shock/strut. I can hear it mostly on little dips in the road. The best way I can describe the noise is well..it sounds like the noise you hear when under bridges (underpasses), like that knocking type of noise caused by cars on top driving over the little gaps.
New clunk - check rear swaybar mounts - the driver side (left) mount is susceptible to getting more loose judging on how the swaybar moves. One bolt was loose by about 1mm, not even, and still made a scratchy-clunking noise going over driveways...
