squeak squeak! - Honda Prelude Forum

i have a noise maybe you guys might be able to aid with

i can hear a squeak almost like a door hinge that needs to be oiled coming from i think the front right of my car.

it seems as if its only happening when my car is decelerating.
or at least thats the only time i can really hear it.
its also more noticeable when the car is in gear and decelerating maybe because of the pull slowing down the car.
however, it does do it, but barely do it, when i'm just coasting.

it doesnt matter what speed, just as long as i'm slowing down.

questions? comments? concerns?

It's either in the brake assembly or it could be a cv joint. Just do a search, you'll be surprised by what you can find.

check out this thread - seem's like a common problem with ludes. I do know that for 5th gens, there is a recall associated with this problem.

yea, it doesnt sound like a clunk, more like the sound an unoiled door hinge. i'm leaning towards the axle, since it just barely started leaking grease, does that sound more likely?

CV Joint or Ball bearing, could be one of those. I doubt it's the axle itself though.
