I did it ghetto and so far my rims are still looking good (I don't use them much though). I painted mine black.
All I did was do a pathetic sanding job with leftover sandpaper I found in my parents basement, tape up the rubber, spray on a few coats of primer, spray on as many coats as I could of left over spraypaint, and finally finish it off with some coats of clearcoat.
Done and done, ghetto black rims and high as a kite from spraying in my parents garage.
That sounds like a good idea. I am having problems with the finish on my stocks and they are just starting to look crappy. I have a white Lude (obviously) and gunmetal doesnt exactly look good on a white car. I don't want black either because then I'd be like every other rice boy out there who painted theirs black. Are there any other colors that i could paint them (besides white) that would: a) look good and b) look natural?
My stockeis have cancer, I think I will do this this weekend or next. No point in mobbing ghetto stockies when I can do this for the winter. to Neoekai
is there any special way they should be sanded?? I noticed on my rims that they have grooves going around the circumfrence throughout the rim? I am going to do this with the gunmetal for sure. Please post pics when done too !!!
i will sell someone my already gunmetalled wheels if you want. Im buying a set of directional rims off of someone on this board and have no use for mine any more.
I bought a set of SI rims already painted from Neoekai. After about 1/2 year. They are chipped to hell. They look like ass right now, but oh well, I got them for 140. I would never paint any of my rims again. They only look good for a short period of time.
really? Do you drive a lot? Because after 8 months of mine being painted they still look like the day i painted them, except the spot where i dropped the wrench on one of them
