Hey all! I just bought one of these bad boys from a local dude that wrecked his 4th gen last year (for $90, w00t!). I've been trying IN VAIN for the last hour or so to mount the bastard, and it won't go in!!! I've searched and have heard that some people (Satan_SRV and a few others) have had to grind off some of the passenger-side black mounting bracket so it'll clear the brake lines and sundry wiring looms... but others have said it just went on fine, with no mods. What gives? Those that didn't have to grind the bracket, what did you do to get it to slip on? And those that did have to grind, any pics of where and how much (and what would be the recommended tool to do the job without overdoing it?) Thanks!!!

It will not go in fine unless you no longer have your ABS in the car. You will have to grind a chunk out to fit around the ABS lines. I used a tabletop grinder and ground off, a bit. Maybe 1" by 1/2"

The rear install is very simple, there are no modifications necessary to get it to fit, other than either a) removing the side trunk linings, or b) cutting holes for the bar to pass through. It' the same for any rear strut bar though.

Edit: After a couple hours of grinding, cussing, bending ABS lines and shifting wires, she went on... and all I can say is hot damn it was worth the effort.
