Try R&D, I know they've had them in the past. They sponsor the site, so there is a banner down at the bottom of the page on the right.

I was wanting one too for the raise in compression. I checked R&D's site, they didn't have anything for preludes in the spoon section. I guess I'll have to email them.

Exactly. My head is getting milled, actually, my whole motor is being rebuilt with brand spanking new internals, and that is the exact reason I wanted that headgasket. Thanks for the responses!

If you're doing the rebuild I would spend the $$ and get the block sleeved, then you can just buy Arias or JE pistons to the CR you want. Plus your motor will be bulletproof. Milling the Head and stuff cheaper but Sleeving is worth it.

Email David at R&D, also, email James at Performance Evolution. You can find those two in the for sale forum. They're both sponsors.

when you get to that higher compression(12:1) do you have to worry about the octane of gas you use? dont hi-comp engines perform way better on hi-octane gas? or does it even matter

JDMhondaparts.com also has it for sale. I can't exactly recommend them though, they seem kind of sleezy.

OK, here's the dillio- I have tried a zillion different places and have had no luck with any of them. I've tried everything you guys told me, I even searched through yahoo, but they all either say discontinued or don't have it for anything but the B series motors. So, I have decided to say screw this and go get the OEM one, which poses yet another question- If I do mill the head, having an OEM head gasket won't pose any problems will it? Thanks in advance!

maybe you can try www.inlinefour.com. I called them about the stainless valves and they tried to get me a pair. Maybe they could get you a headgasket...

Thanks. I looked on their site and found nothing though. And I will tell you guys something that I found rather stupid yet hilarious at the same time: Today I called two Honda dealers. First call to Honda on Atlantic blvd.- me- Hi, I need a headgasket for a 93-96 VTEC prelude. Salesdude- Alrighty, we have that in stock and the price is $2.83. Me- Uh, thanks. (and hang up quickly because I was laughing so damn hard at this guys stupidity. Suuure. $3 for a headgasket. )
Call number 2 to Orange park honda- me- Hi, I need a headgasket for a 93-96 Prelude VTEC salesredneck- owkay, shoo-er, hayng on thair a meenutt. ( Sometimes I wish I had a redneck decoder) salesredneck- oh and bah the way, prayludes deed not cumm veeetec in 92. me- yeah, that's why I asked for a 93-96 headgasket. salesredneck- oh. awlrahty, it's gonna bee $71. me- thanks. I never knew it to be this difficult to get a part. What's that site that sells OEM stuff?

haparts.com is the OEM parts store I go to. You just need the part #.

Did you check jdmhondaparts.com for the Spoon one? It says it's for sale for $130.

Like I said in my previous post, they seemed a little scummy to me. My only expirence with them was over a year ago when they tried to sell what looked like a used titanium ITR knob to my friend. Honestly I'd call or e-mail inlinefour.com first. They're the sole official Spoon distributors in the states.

Whoa dang, I called jdmhondaparts, and they're like, yeah it's $130 plus 10 bucks shipping. Emailed Dave, he has none in stock. I think perhaps I'll just go with the OEM one for now. But thank you guys tremendously for all the replies.

if you do want a thinner head gasket, which i would recommend since it is an easy way to increase compression with limited risks, then you are not out of luck quite yet.

there is a company called cometic that makes custom head gaskets for all applications. check out their website at www.cometic.com , their number is 440-354-0777

and yes, they do make very good gaskets...its not some no-name company, theyve been in the game for a long time. it also looks like their site is under construction so the answer to your question will be best answered by giving them a call. their "automotive" section is not functional on their site yet

good luck!

Thanks! Um, first, have you used them personally? I'm a little leery with things I've never heard of, I'm willing to try, but I want some positive feedback on them first. Anyone on here that you know of use them?
