i know i said that, but i went to 165, damnit its 167.50. oh well, another time....... lol, this guy probobly hates me, he had high bid at 122, then i bid it upto 150, he went to 160 i went ot 165, haha, ryan if u never posted this, he would have saved 50 bucks

i have to recheck but last i remember its 110 shipped for the eprom. there is a kit that allows you to switch between the factory program and the spoon program in the same ecm. there will be a dash mounted(or wherever you like) switch to select the desired program. again i have to check but last i remember its 150 shipped.
the prices are for most all programs for most all pre obd and obdI chips. civic obdII is extra and much more complicated to install.

...can you explain in more details the actual abilities of this chip, like what can it do, and is it good quality, is it just like Spoon, but cheaper... I wanna know more about it, I think I am gonna get one can you show me the light...???
I know the auction is over already, and it's too late... But FYI, he was selling just the chip, not a complete chipped ECU. The chip itself is just a $1.60 EEPROM burned with the Spoon program. (I never knew Spoon ever worked on the H22a... But maybe it is really a Spoon program...)
There are several places online where you can get just the EEPROM with whatever program you want burned on it for $50-$75...
But anyway, once you have the chip, you also need a P13 ECU. Then once you find a P13, you need to open it up, and carefully de-solder the stock ROM. In it's place you solder in a socket that the new EEPROM fits in. Pop the new EEPROM in the socket. Now test the ECU in your car. I hope that you did not screw up the soldering. Because if you did, you probably just shorted out your rare and expensive P13 ECU...
I guess what I'm trying to say is, whoever paid $167.50 for that $1.60 EEPROM is a sucker...

Andrew
In lamens terms, what is a p13, I have heard a lot about that, isn't that just the stock H22 Ecu or something or JDM...
I almost grasp the concept.

P13 is the common term used to refer to a 93-95 Prelude VTEC ECU. The Honda part number for it is in the form xxx-P13-xxxx so that is where the name comes from.

Isn't that what I said? I'd call it pretty rare considering that Honda only sold about 5000 4th Gen VTECs in the US 93-95. The P13s usually go for at least $350-400 if you can find one...
actually andrew, you're not "burning" the eprom. the eprom has a dark window that when exposed to light for a certain amount of time and intensity will erase the contents. the "burners" just accelerate this process since if the eprom was left under a flourescent light it would take weeks to completely erase the memory of the eprom.
so ends another episode of "vern's the man"
but where can you get the eproms programmed for 50 bucks? i never found anyone to do it that cheap.

"Burning" a PROM, EPROM, or EEPROM is electrical engineer slang for writing data to the PROM registers. (At least that's the only way I've ever heard the term used in reference to chips...)
Burning a PROM requires a programmer for whatever specific chip you are using. A programmer can cost anywhere between $50-$500 depending on the chips it is capable of writing and the features and software it offers. You can actually build your own programmer for many PROM and microcontroller applictions.
You are correct in one respect... Certain EEPROMs are UV erasable. They have a little clear plastic window on the top that you shine a UV source through to erase. The EEEPROM in my Dinan P13 ECU is UV eraseable. They put a Dinan sticker over the window so it won't get wiped. Under a direct UV lamp, the chip would be erased in about 1-2 minutes. Under normal room lighting, it could take months to erase...
