Spoiler LED light

Okay dudes, my brake light on the spoiler doesn't work, it did a few weeks ago and I just noticed it recently. I have looked around for just the replacement light which I think is an LED strip but I can't find anything. Is there a wiring problem such as fuse/relay that's not working or the LED's are just burnt out. My mechanic said don't bother replacing it cause it cost too much and not worth it in his opinion. I actually want it to work cause I think it's safer and looks better during braking. I had a few close calls with people almost rear ending me and a friend of mine already got rear ended recently by dumb ass drivers. Not sure if these people follow too close or are just blind but I will be pissed off if I get rear ended and my prelude is written off. Okay too much ranting, I just want some help to know where I can buy this LED light and how to replace it or if I should check some wiring problems first. Thanks in advance dudes and dudettes.

Remove the led strip unplug the harness. Test if its getting power. Have someone step on the brake pedal. Use a test light or a multimeter to test for voltage. If you get voltage the led strip is bad. It's not that expensive to replace. You just need to find the one that fits. If you don't get voltage then you have wiring problems.

get a couple of rear fog lights. it should reduce your chances of getting rear ended
