Has anyone heard of these swirl control valves that you put into your intake to swirl the gas to increase combustion and improve horsepower?? I'm nt so sure if it's bull**** or not, but they claim up to 35% gains in power. It's a small turbine like device you stick right before the throttle body. Any info would be much appreciated

well ive seen two different kinds, the plastic tornado one that sits in the intake and actually blocks air and decreases performance, and another one that i saw on hot rod tv that is blue made out of aluminum and bolts in between manifold and intake just like a gasket. there is nothing to block air passage, it just has grooves along its walls to supposedly spin air for performance. i cant remember who made it but it was from a big name manufacuter

That is a throttle body spacer. My friend ha one one his Sierra and it made the truck a little more punchy. Helps atomization or something like that.

yeah i was looking into that a while back but confirmed the bs. they're kinda expensive too... i think that new air filters such as monsterflow and maybe even weapon-r dragon does the same... it's supposed to swirl the air and lessen the turbulence thus creating a smoother flow of air.
