On the 4th Gen the speed sensor sits almost right below the throttle body on the tranny. If you take off the intake and kinda move some wires around you should be able to see one clip that snaps into a sensor on the tranny and two hoses (these hoses are filled with power steering fluid to keep it lubricated). check to make sure its tight. if its bad you can take it out by unbolting the one bolt on the side and twisting it out. i have a spare one if you want to buy it. let me know

i dunno.....50 bucks shipped?

the EGR valve sits right in front of the throttle body twords the bumper. it should have a cast iron base which you should be able to tell by a little surface rust on it and the top to it is metal with a black clip into the top. there will also be a hose from the right side of the intake manifold that connects to the EGR valve.....btw i have two of those also if you need one

there is 2 parts to the speed sensor, and electrical part and a mechanical part. unless you have been ****ing with the vss then the mechanical part wouldnt have gone bad...give us some more details of what is going on...by the way, its a pain to get the speed sensor in and out.

you vtec isnt working because of your speed senosr, and i believe your cruise control wont work because of the sensor. Now all you have to do is find out whats up with your vss. Electrical checks are only about 30 bucks at most shops..they can tell you if you have a short or if a sensor is bad. Other than that, i dont know
