speedo not working?.....

like most people i thought it was just the speed sensor. got a new one, wasnt the problem....when i took the VSS out with the gear attached to it, i looked inside the tranny at the gear on the differential that drives the VSS. teeth looked fine. then i touched it. i could wiggle it around. not good. had to take the tranny out and instead of buying a new differential i just had the speed gear welded back on. saved me some $300 plus and did all my own labor. should have it all back together by tommorrow. see if it works now. honda siad they had never seen that before, nor had AAMCO. crazy shiiz there huh? anyways, now your smarter for reading this. have a good day.

my speedo totally didnt work. if yours is just jumping around, its probably just the VSS. easy to fix.

the speed gear is actually attached to the differential. it is heat pressed on from the factory so i guess mine just wore out or something.

i just finished putting tranny back in and speedometer works perfect now. now my tranny is messed up. if its not one thing, its another. it keeps popping out of 1st and 2nd gear. the rest are fine. think i messed something up.

the diff. is #1 and the small gear attached to it is the speed gear.
