speedo issue
I have a 92 F22. Driving home from grocery when speedometer stops working. Shortly after it stops working, I notice a distinct odor. Shortly after that I see a small tail of smoke seep out of the crack where the steering wheel housing meets the dash. I pull over and turn her off, wait about 5 minutes and crank her back up. I proceed to drive her home and now the speedo is working fine and no more smell or smoke. She hasn't done it since either. However the smell remained in her for a few days and I finally realized why I recognized the smell. Having worked in electronics manufacturing for many years, I was able to recognize the odor as that of a burning mother board. I have no doubt what the odor is. Has anyone else out there experienced this in their Lude? Does the 92 have a cable or electronic connect to the speedo?
Btw, a couple days later as I was checking stuff out (wipers, cruise, lights, etc) when I noticed the cruise button has been engaged constantly. Cruise still works however. Crazy huh? Any ideas?
