speed sensor hoses??

on my h23 manual transmission,I see that there are two hose ports for something. I'm not familiar with this and I'm wondering what the hell it's for and if it's okay to cap off the ports since I can;t seem to find any hoses from my h22a4 to go there.
thanks in advance to all who reply.

I'm not sure what you're trying to do, but...

The 4th gen and earlier Preludes have true land-speed sensitive power steering. The sensor in the tranny regulates the p/s fluid and the assist applied. In the 5th gen, this portion of the sensor was eliminated and it's all handled inside the pump... thus it's an engine-speed based assist.

If you are putting in a 5th gen motor/tranny into an older car, swap over your old speed sensor and hook up the hoses. If you're putting an older tranny into a newer car, put the newer speed sensor on it. Basically, keep the speed sensor with the car, not the motor/tranny.

Swap your 5g sensor over to the 4g tranny and you're good. Sell the sensor to one of the numerous people that are having trouble with theirs!
