Sparatic Idle

I live in upstate NY, needless to say its fricking freezing here and I dont have the luxury to drive a 'winter car'. So something is amiss with my idle. Every so often I will be at a stop or slowing to a stop and the rev's will bounce from 1000RPM-1600RPM's. I have tried a few 'in car' things: i.e. shutting the car off, and redlining it through 2 gears; both of which have worked..but it happens again and again.

anyone else have this happen or know of a fix that could be done? im praying for a day w/o snow so i can take a look under the hood and watch as it happens but with this **** weather i'd like to have a quick fix that is correctl, yaknow?

thanks alot everyone

How To Clean IAC Valve
My idle was a little strange also but after using the above write-up my idle is perfect.

instead of just cleaning the IAC, i would suggest the Coolant bypass MOD. When you do this mod it makes it so that no water goes through the back side of the IAC. DOnt forget to put cardboard in between the piece under the TB. After i did it my car has idled great. It idles a little bit high when its cold but as soon as its warm it drops nicely.

My car has that popping/stuttering problem too it right when I'm taking off in 1st gear sometimes. Could that possibly be my IAC as well?
