Hi I am getting my 95 prelude si this saturday. It has an h22 swap and the mechanics is overall nice but I have a couple questions.
The owner did not take good care of the body. It looked like he drilled some cheap side skirts to the sides and installed a front bumper and held it to the car with strings? Any suggestions on how I can repair this to make it close to stock condition?
I also noticed when the car was starting up and I was watching it with the hood up the engine rocked back a little is that normal? He said all the mounts were in but I'm not sure.
Also how can I repair the rust in the quarter panels?

With fear of sounding like a douchbag, I am still going to ask this question: why did you choose to purchase this particular car? It sounds like a nightmare. (again, im sorry if that makes me sound like an ass, im not trying to)
Let's start with the motor, why did this person swap the H22 in the car? personal preference or was there something wrong with the original motor? If you think the engine is rocking back too far, what else could be wrong with the swap?
On to the body: it sounds like a complete hackjob. And to be 100% honest, if you have to post on a forum on how to fix rust, you should take the car to a body shop and have a professional fix it for you, they can probably also take care of all those holes that were drilled etc.

Yeah my dad didnt like it either. The performance is nice but the car was mistreated. My dad recommends that I get a camry but that goes against everything I stand for.

I am not saying don't get a prelude, trust me, I just got my prelude last Monday and I LOVE this car. So I'm not saying don't get a prelude, I'm saying, dont get this one. To give you an example, the prelude I just bought is a 1992 Si with the H23 and like 150K miles. The interior is immaculate. And with immaculate I mean the ONLY thing that is wrong with it is a crack in the window switch trim. Pictures of interior can be taken upon request. It was also freshly painted and so far I have been able to find 2 scratches and 1 tiny ding. I paid $3350 for the car. What I am saying is, you can find something nice, just be patient

Fixing the quarter panel rust could quite possibly cost more than the asking price of the car. Honda fenders rust from the inside out, so the bad metal has to be cut out, new metal welded in, and then obviously it would need painted. Bodywork = expensive.
Also, since you don't sound to be too mechanically inclined, I'd recommend taking it to a mechanic to get the motor checked out first.
Removing the bodykit shouldn't be a big deal, you would just need to get some stock parts to replace the ricer crap.
Honda Prelude 2000 this is a nice 2000 lude at a dealer near me it has no rust and bone stock if i didnt just do a swap in my car this is what i would go with and its not that far away from NJ if you would travel a little
Ah f*** I didn't see these posts well I got a 95 prelude si special edition.
It has 149000 miles on it but its real strong. I think the guage cluster might need to be changed because ever once in a while i have to tap on the speedometer otherwise it stays on 0
